5 Reasons I Changed to Contact Lenses

I’ve had a solid good 10 years with glasses, but my God am I sick of them. Here are my reasons as to why I’ve swapped from glasses to contacts!
1. I can finally have face masks on without squinting at my laptop. So, I love having pamper evenings where I put on a new series and 20 different face masks but I can’t watch a series without my glasses on if there’s a mask on my face. So yesterday, I was having the best day ever in my pjs allll day and I put on 4 face masks and started to watch The Crown (which is bloody amazing!) with my contacts in and it was amazing being able to watch it from afar without needing to squint or get super close to the screen.
2. NO MORE STEAM!!! It’s mad and especially so much more in this season. So, if you have glasses on and you’ve walked in the cold for more than 2 minutes and then enter a warm building, steam builds up on the bridge of your nose where your glasses meet your nose. It is truly ridiculous and legit walking into a place and no steam occurring makes me feel so grateful lol.
3. I don‘t have to push the glasses up the bridge of my nose, good Lord was it annoying.
4. PEOPLE CAN FINALLY SEE AND APPRECIATE MY EYESHADOWING SKILLS! Oh my days it is mad annoying spending time on picking colours and blending it out so it looks good and then it’s overlooked because nobody can see it. It’s the same with my eyebrows, I spend time and effort filling them in and realistically nobody saw them. When I came home and my mum saw me for the first time without glasses in about 10 years with my brows filled in, she asked whether i’ve shaped tbem (which I don’t, they’re all very au natural), but she hadn’t seen them properly before and it was crazy to say the least.
5. No more smudged makeup around my eye/nose area, it always gets smudged and sweaty in that area and I hate it.
I get mine from Specsavers and it’s the monthly ones which I pay £23 for. I have heard the dailies are less effort but it costs £52 because of the stigmatism (my left eye being weaker than my right thus needing it proper specially made). So, I did opt for the cheaper one as I am a struggling student as per. And oh my god, I asked the optician the dumbest questions ever, like will the lenses fall out if I cry, can I shower with them and I felt bare silly but she just laughed with me so it was calm.
Honestly, I am loving life with contact lenses, best decision I’ve made and I do regret not getting them sooner!

Anyways, that’s it for this one, I am sorry if it was a bit rubbish but I wanted to tell you all about the change, and I feel like the reasonings are a bit dumb but let’s be honest, I don’t care. Stay safe and stay blessed my friends!
