You may be reading the title of this blog post and assuming I am fully trolling you, but I kid you not, I am not. I think potatoes are amazing and I genuinely have always wanted to see someone do a blog post dedicated to potatoes. So, I thought I would do it myself. Potatoes are something I am passionate about and they are my favourite vegetables and I adore that you can create the greasiest foods from it! There are many forms of potato that you can eat starting from chips, wedges and mash to crisps and potato salads. But a personal favourite of the art form that is a potato, is a jacket potato. The key to a good jacket potato is being able to make sure the inside is soft enough while the skin is the right amount of crispiness. Following this, my toppings are usually beans and cheese, so in that scenario, you have to make sure that the potato and beans are warm enough to melt the cheese on top, (on the picture you will see, the cheese is yet to melt).

A jacket potato is just amazing and can be eaten at any mealtime, unlike forms such as boiled potato and chips, they are just sides to a main meal. But a jacket, is the meal itself. How bloody fab. Anyways as I was saying, the key is to make sure it is soft enough. What I do is with a knife cut a deep cross into the potato so the heat is able to reach the insides of it and then pop it into the microwave for 10-15 minutes before putting it in the oven. This may be because my oven is terrible and takes too damn long to heat anything but it legit does help get the right crispiness and softness. I’m not going to lie, I do wish I had more pictures of potato forms but I do not, but maybe I’ll add to this post one day and add in different potato stuff I have made. I have always made things but never did I think I would be needing proper pictures of them.

Baring this in mind, enjoy your week, have a jacket potato (if you’re allergic to potato I genuinely feel incredibly sorry for you). Stay safe and stay blessed, ‘til next week my friends.
